A very special evening and at the same time una novità per la città: il 29 ottobre il Tetris di Trieste, locale oramai famoso per i concerti e la musica live, ci ha regalato i Balmorhea. Il gruppo texano, più precisamente di Austin, sono un complesso definibile “post-classical”, termine che non ci aiuta molto ma che vuole racchiudere un genere con influenze di musica classica combinate ad elementi e sonorità vicine al rock e al folk. Il gruppo, dopo i primi tre lavori contraddistinti da sperimentazioni sonore e formazioni strumentali diverse, ha pubblicato l’ultimo album Constellation . Il lavoro è incentrato principalmente sul suono, una sorta di evoluzione del suono che ha portato il gruppo ad elaborare melodie profonde ed intense which are instrumental in the deadlift and moments of near silence or pause, a reflective disc and deep drifts and leaves room for imagination. The group itself, in front of a crowded but not fully booked, has proposed several pieces of their latest work, but without neglecting the sperimentazioni passate; in tal modo la proposta musicale è stata molto varia, sono state eseguite composizioni molto lente e melanconiche nelle quali il piano si poneva come primo protagonista, ad altre tracce più complesse ed elaborate, nelle quali venivano esaltate e mescolate le peculiarità dei vari strumenti riuscendo a creare una musicalità particolareggiata, lontana nel tempo e capace di creare situazioni suggestive e romantiche; ogni singolo elemento…. dal violino, al contrabbasso, al banjo e via dicendo erano tutti distinguibili nelle composizioni, si alternavano vicendevolmente e si accompagnavano a qualche lamento o a qualche attimo di silenzio riuscendo a ritagliarsi il proprio momento di evidenza.
